The St. Paul Island Tribe is listed as “St. Paul Island” in the list of federally recognized tribes. The Tribe has historically used the names “Aleut Community of St. Paul Island,” “St. Paul Tribe,” and “St. Paul Island.” These names all refer to the federally recognized tribe of St. Paul Island. In tribal codes the Tribe shall most commonly be referred to as the “St. Paul Island Tribe,” and the Tribal Council shall be referred to as the “St. Paul Island Tribal Council,” or “the Council.” [Certificate of Adoption passed April 22nd, 2008; 2008 Code § 1.1.3]
