Traditionally, the laws and customs of the Aleut People of St. Paul Island were enforced without outside intervention. The governing body, the Tribal Council of the Tribal Government, has the authority to operate a Tribal Court by its inherent sovereignty as a federally recognized tribe, under Article IV of the Tribal Constitution of the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island, and under any power so delegated by the Congress of the United States of America.
