(a) Within thirty (30) days of filing the notice of appeal, the appellant shall file a written brief or statement in support of the appeal. The brief or statement shall not be longer than forty (40) typewritten eight and one-half by eleven (11) inch pages. An original and three copies shall be filed with the Clerk and a copy served upon or mailed to each respondent. If the appellant chooses not to submit a written brief or statement, the appellant shall file a written notice that no brief or statement will be filed and will give such notice to each respondent.

(b) Within thirty (30) days after receiving the appellant’s brief or statement, the respondent shall file a reply or statement, which shall be filed and served in the same manner as the appellant’s brief or statement.

(c) The Court of Appeals may extend these time limits on the request of a party, for good cause shown. [2008 Code § 2.4.11; Res. 1999-17]
