(a) Any proceeding within the scope of these rules may be instituted in the St. Paul Island Tribal Court by the filing of a complaint with the St. Paul Island Tribal Court Clerk. The petitioner shall also serve a copy of the complaint on the respondent in accordance with ATC 2.20.60.

(b) Upon the filing of a complaint, the Clerk shall issue a summons, together with a copy of the complaint, directing the respondent to answer the complaint within thirty (30) days after service of the complaint or consent to judgment within twenty (20) days after service of the complaint.

(c) The Court will set a trial date not to exceed sixty (60) days after service of the complaint; however, a continuance may be granted for good cause. [Res. 2012-24; 2008 Code § 2.5.4]
