The following terms are defined for the purpose of this chapter:

“Bait stations” means officially approved traps, poison, and/or boxes to capture and/or eliminate rodents.

“Entity” means any governmental, for-profit, or nonprofit organization, or individual conducting business on St. Paul Island.

“Food source” means any food, seafood, and/or waste product that could provide a rodent with nourishment necessary to survive on the island.

“Rodent” means one of three species: the Norway or brown rat (Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout), the roof or black rat (Rattus L.), and the house mouse (Mus musclus L.).

“Rodent restrictive containers” means officially approved containers that prevent entry by rodents.

“Structure” means any building, house, shack, or garage on St. Paul Island.

“Vessel” means any motorized or nonmotorized ship, boat, barge, and/or craft that is used for personal or business interest. [2008 Code § 7.1.3]
