“Adult” means a person eighteen (18) years of age or older, or an emancipated minor.

“Compliance Supervision Officer” means the Tribal Enforcement Officers designated to implement the compliance supervision provisions and policies of the Compliance Supervision Division under the Tribal Enforcement Department.

“Court” or “Tribal Court” means the St. Paul Island Tribal Court.

“Custodian” means a person who has physical custody of a minor and who is providing food, shelter, and supervision to the minor.

“Guardian” means a person other than the minor’s parent who is, by law, responsible for that minor.

“Juvenile” means a minor, as defined by this chapter.

“Juvenile offender” means a minor who violates a provision of this title.

“Minor” means:

(1) A person under eighteen (18) years of age who is not emancipated;

(2) A person eighteen (18) years of age or older but against whom proceedings are commenced in Juvenile Court prior to his or her eighteenth birthday; or

(3) A person eighteen (18) years of age or older who is under the continuing jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court.

“Tribal Enforcement Officer” means the designated persons sworn in by a Tribal Court Judge to enforce the laws, regulations, and ordinances of the Tribe. [Res. 2012-41; 2008 Code § 4.1.3]
